“Diane and I are in the middle of our last trimester. We are expecting this spring. We are looking for baby clothes in all five seasonal colors.
Diane is going to be a grandmother. That means more than we could have ever imagined – our families are stronger, which means they are much more united, which means they are much more accepting and loving and accepting. My husband had four kids and now is going to have a sixth. Diane, being a grandmother now has made her empathy and compassion stronger, and I see that happening in my own children. She is giving us deeper joys. Her empathy for other people means they are creating a better world.
Diane and I are the perfect storm of love and trust. We feel that we are transmitting that to our children. She is all over the world. She gets a break from politics and she gets a break from the work. That is her time to be home with us and enjoy us and really interact with us. You know, not over your back foot, or you got over-eager, or you were mean in some way. We are feeding the love which creates that little surge of electricity in people’s lives. I look forward to that moment. When I think of that energy in my children, it is so amazing.”
