SATURDAY

2:15: Sister 3 minutes to go in the first half

Nasty choke. Simmons is not happy about being accused of that by Arizona State’s Shannon Evans. If he follows up on that, the game will be over pretty quickly.

2:40: The Mustangs come back

Temple jumped all over Houston early and was up by as many as 14. It will be interesting to see how many games they close out on even terms.

4:16: So bad they turned a wad of money over, causing the money to fly into Arizona. The Longhorns must travel a good long way.

5:45: UCLA loses. Again.

After UCLA finished the first half with its worst half of basketball in the Gus Johnson era, it had nothing left. In the final period, the Bruins went almost 8 minutes without a field goal.

5:49: The Ohtani family. Miu and Shohei finish their first year as the Dodgers’ starting right fielders. Should be interesting to see what they are like.

SPRING SEMIFINALS

5:52: Loyola Marymount on the road at Florida. The long trip could play a factor, as could the air temperature in Jacksonville.

6:03: Pacific and Arizona at JP Morgan Center. Once again, this is a close-fought game, with seven lead changes and 12 ties.

10:07: Duke-Marquette at MSG. It’s close.

12:18: Texas A&M-Arkansas at the Superdome. Quick 1:40 conclusion is expected here.

SUNDAY

1:14: Oakland at Georgia Tech. As long as this game doesn’t bog down in foul trouble, the Yellow Jackets should be fine.

3:09: Minnesota at Michigan. UM has won 24 straight and looks to be poised for a monster season. The Gophers have many new faces, as well. It should be a very interesting game.

4:16: Villanova at Georgetown. With the Huskies traveling to Houston, this should be a nice matchup for Villanova.

4:23: UCLA vs. Arizona State in Phoenix. Will Simmons get his redemption?

6:00: Virginia vs. North Carolina at the Coliseum. The Cavaliers are unbeaten against ranked opponents. UNC should be fine. The difference is, the other teams in this big conference game are playing the Wildcats. Good chance UNC will shut them out.
