The United States has finally regained the Ryder Cup for the first time since 2008. The USA, led by Nicklaus, Woods and Mickelson, came back from a 10-6 deficit to claim the trophy with a 15 ½-13 ½ win over Europe. While the team’s victory was heartwarming, and U.S. golfers gave a remarkably emotional moment to winning, what was so inspiring was the passionate chant of “USA! USA!” whenever European players were making a par. If that doesn’t sum up what the Ryder Cup was all about, I don’t know what does.
