Must read

Kim Kardashian West is the new cover star for Newsweek. The legendary French magazine, recently lauded as one of the very best in the industry, is back on the web after a long hiatus. From now until the end of the month, Newsweek will release a new issue featuring a cover interview with Ms. Kardashian West, as well as coverage of the Paris robbery, President Trump, and the Harvey Weinstein sex scandal.

The fact that we are featured as the cover of @Newsweek is such an honor! You guys made me cry with your support last November and now I’m honored to be on your cover. Thank you so much! @Newsweek 🇫🇷 A post shared by Kim Kardashian West (@kimkardashian) on Sep 1, 2017 at 7:39am PDT

After a 12-year hiatus from print publication, Newsweek relaunched itself this summer with an attention-grabbing poster featuring a frightening, screen-grabbed image of Hillary Clinton with her arm extended. Ms. Kardashian West’s cover is a reflection of a similar discontent with the one-term presidency of Ms. Clinton and the belief that everything is going to hell in a hand basket and that Democratic leaders are going nowhere in Washington. Ms. Clinton wasn’t the only feature on the cover. The article, written by Robert Lacey, noted a bias against Ms. Clinton and a preference for Mr. Trump and that she wouldn’t even be the party’s potential standard-bearer in 2020.
