Aurélien Tchouaméni: Meet the French soccer star everyone is talking about
Aurélien Tchouaméni started his professional career in the same French professional soccer league. He played for Bordeaux B a few years back, where he was part of the same team as Karim Benzema, Kylian Mbappé, and Kylian Mbappé. He moved to Spain in 2015 and played for FC Barcelona B before he returned to France in 2016. He had a successful season in the French second league, where he won the club championship and also gained the title of Player of the month. The following season, he won the title of Player of the Season.
Tchouaméni was a regular starter for the French national team, and many were ready to give him a chance to play for Cameroon. However, the French federation gave the player an extended suspension, which led many to believe that the Cameroonian national team was in line with Tchouaméni.
After returning from Cameroon to France, Tchouaméni was a regular starter for the French national team. He played in many international friendlies for the French national team, including the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup and the 2017 UEFA European Championship. He scored his first goal for France in the 2018 World Cup qualification against Bulgaria which was the first ever goal for an African national team. He then scored in a friendly against Nigeria on 12 July 2018 the same day he was called in Cameroon ahead of the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.
Tchouaméni was voted the best player of the 2018 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon, where he played in the first match against DR Congo. He played for his country and their national team in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
